Bush Retaliates Against Michael Moore

comment by Larry Ross
July 28, 2007

Bush has found a way to retaliate against Michael Moore, both for his earlier film exposure, "Fahrenheit 9/11" and new film "Sicko" which attacks Bush's health care system and the US drug industry. Also, Bush and his neocons hate Cuba's very enlightened and comprehensive medical care system that shows up the failings of the US profit-driven healthcare system which fewer and fewer Americans can afford. No wonder they have a regime of punishments for Americans curious enough to go to Cuba and find out for themselves. Michael Moore has found and told the truth again to fellow Americans. That has made him an enemy to the Bush Administration. See: Letter from Michael Moore

Michael Moore Says He's Been Served    Michael Moore Subpoenaed by Bush Administration

Michael Moore said Thursday that the Bush administration has served him with a subpoena regarding his trip to Cuba during the making of his new film, "Sicko."
The Oscar-winning filmmaker, who appeared Thursday on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," said he was notified about the subpoena at the network's studios in Burbank, Calif.

A Young Peoples History of the United States - Vol. 1 by Howard Zinn

Adapted by Rebecca Stefoff
July 26, 2007

Columbus to the Spanish-American War
From the introduction: We all need heroes, people to admire, to see as examples of how human beings should live. But I prefer to see Bartolomé de Las Casas as a hero, for exposing Columbus's violent behavior against the Indians he encountered in the Bahamas. I prefer to see the Cherokee Indians as heroes, for resisting their removal from the lands on which they lived. To me, it is Mark Twain who is a hero, because he denounced President Theodore Roosevelt after Roosevelt praised an American general who had massacred hundreds of people in the Philippines. I consider Helen Keller a hero because she protested against President Woodrow Wilson's decision to send young Americans into the slaughterhouse of the First World War.
My point of view, which is critical of war, racism, and economic injustice, carries over to the situation we face in the United States today. Volumn One begins with a look at Christopher Columbus's arrival through the eyes of the Arawak Indians and leads the reader through the protests against imperialism during the Spanish-American War.

Vonnegut Names Bush & Associates As Psychopathic Personalities
comment by Larry Ross
May 31, 2007

Vonnegut accurately names the Bush medical ailment as that of having a psychopathic personality. This fits Bush and his associates and their behaviour like a glove. They have no guilt for their many lies and no remorse for their crimes. They feel justified in whatever they do. Thus Bush claims he is in communication with God who advises him. This kind of delusion in a 'so-called' Christian country like the US is accepted as perfectly normal. To the true believers this delusion is real and meritorious. It proves Bush is a man of God and is therefore virtuous and heavenly inspired. Bush's followers show that belief reinforces the Bush delusion, thus helping immunize Bush against advice contrary to his own psychopathic wishes and impulses.
Enlightened Americans will have to stop Bush and his associates with impeachment before he can destroy more countries and trigger a World War III.

Overthrow, America's Century of Regime Change from Hawaii to Iraq
Book by Stephen Kinzer
May 23, 2007

The recent of Saddam Hussein may have turned "regime change" into a contemporary buzzword, but it's been a tactic of American foreign policy for more than 110 years. Beginning with the ouster of Hawaii's monarchy in 1893, Kinzer runs through the foreign governments the U.S. has had a hand in toppling.

It's amazing that Fidel Castro managed to survive all the US assassination attempts to kill him. Castro has introduced many reforms in all fields, particularly free health and educational services. Rather than earning US approval, this has not diminished US government and media demonization of Cuba or US sanctions against it. It makes one wonder how long Hugo Chavez of Venezuela will survive if US tries similar assassination attempts on him. Like Castro defeating a US-based dictatorship, Chavez has also defied the US by his crime of nationalising Venezuela's oil for Venezuelans. Given the record of US installed and supported military dictatorships in Latin America, will the Bush regime, or those that may take over the Bush mantle, go back to this strategy?

The book - 634 WAYS TO KILL FIDEL CASTRO by Fabián Escalante

The Secret War series In a highly readable and informative style, Fabián Escalante reviews over four decades of attempts to kill Fidel Castro—involving weapons that ranged from exploding cigars and poison pens to grenades and bazookas. As the former director of Cuban counterintelligence, Escalante played a significant role in frustrating many of these assassination plans, made by the CIA and the Mafia under a project codenamed "Executive Action." Although melodramatic and at times quite comical, these plots were deadly serious—and illegal, as subsequent U.S. government inquiries such as the 1975 Church Commission concluded.

  Neocon Manipulation Of US Media
by Larry Ross
April 26, 2007

Every would be dictatorship tries to control the content, bias and slant of information fed to their publics. This applies particularly if they are deliberately lying to their publics and planning to gain public support for their wars. Once they start a war, they have many other opportunities to legislate for funds to fight the war, as well as legislate laws such as The Patriot Act that will facilitate the establishment of the planned shift from  democracy to dictatorship. The Bush regime is no different and has taken the American public well along this road. Bill Moyers presents a useful video on this process below.

VIDEO: Bill Moyers Journal :"Buying the War"

Bill Moyers and his team piece together the reporting that shows how the media were complicit in shaping the "public mind" toward the war, and ask what's happened to the press' role as skeptical "watchdog" over government.

9/11 Synthetic Terror: Made in USA.
posted April 6, 2007

Finally, a devastating critique of the covert 9/11 terror network, their false-flag modus operandi, and coup against world civilization. (49 customer reviews)

  Review from Progressive Press

This book provides an urgent answer to the failure of the US intelligence agencies, the Congressional Joint Inquiry, and the Kean-Hamilton 9-11 Commission to discover the basic facts in the September 2001 terror attacks.
The author starts from the official myth of 9-11 - nineteen Arab hijackers, al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden, the laptop in the cave in Afghanistan - and shows how this myth was fabricated during the ten days after 9-11 by media leaks from George Tenet and Richard Clarke, remarks by Colin Powell, and Bush's September 20 address to Congress. In the meantime, each of these figures has been repeatedly caught blatantly lying about Iraq and other subjects, and it is high time their lies about 9-11 be exposed.

US Analyst Predicts Another US-Staged 9/11 To Justify War On Iran

Heather Wokusch, M.A. in Clinical Psychology, is an educator, journalist and writes extensively on US political developments, wars and nuclear issues.
Her following article has similar conclusions to mine and other writers on the preliminary strategies the US is likely to use to justify its War On Iran.
All the indications are that the US will soon massively strike Iran, including the probable use of nuclear weapons.

The Bush administration continues moving closer to a nuclear attack on Iran, and we ignore the obvious buildup at our peril.
Russian media is sounding alarms. In February, ultra-nationalist leader Vladimir Shirinovsky warned that the US would launch a strike against Tehran at the end of this month. Then last week, the Russian News and Information Agency Novosti (RIA-Novosti) quoted military experts predicting the US will attack Iran on April 6th, Good Friday.

Griffin Debunks Defenders of Official 9/11 Conspiracy Story
by Larry Ross
March 29, 2007

Professor Griffin's new book "Debunking 9/11 Debunking" meticulously dissects the flaws in Bush's official story about the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
Paul Craig Roberts gives a splendid review of it below and agrees with its findings. But the implications that the Official Story of the 9/11 attacks was basically a collection of lies and myths is not examined in detail in this article. However the appalling conclusions and implications must be made.

  9/11 and the Evidence
by Paul Craig Roberts
March 27, 2007

The 9/11 attack has been used to start wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, to plan an attack on Iran, to curtail constitutional protections and civil liberties in the US, to radically expand US military budgets and the power of the executive, and to enrich entrenched vested interests.
Professor David Ray Griffin is the nemesis of the official 9/11 conspiracy theory.  In his latest book, Debunking 9/11 Debunking, Griffin destroys the credibility of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Popular Mechanics reports, annihilates his critics, and proves himself to be a better scientist and engineer than the defenders of the official story.

US Military Historian Chalmers Johnson dissects this imperial military industrial complex and predicts calamites for what may be next.
" If there weren't terrorists, Bush and Cheney would have had to invent them? " asks Karlin.

Is the American Empire on the Brink of Collapse?
by Mark Karlin
March 24, 2007

I believe that we're close to a tipping point right now. What happened to the Soviet Union between 1989 and 1991 could easily be happening to us for essentially the same reasons. Imperial overreach, inability to reform, rigid economic ideology. ... The world's balance of power didn't change one iota on September 11, 2001. The only way we could lose the power and influence we had at that time was through our own actions, and that's what we did. -- Chalmers Johnson, author of Nemesis: The Last Days of the American Republic
Has our "leadership" traded democracy for empire? Have their over-bloated egos convinced them that they are the world's newly crowned colonial kings? Author Chalmers Johnson is certainly not given to wearing rose-colored glasses. As he concludes in his newest book, Nemesis: "... my country is launched on a dangerous path that it must abandon or else face the consequences."

. . . But will it be enough, will it reach enough people? Will it actually motivate them to do enough to stop the Bush regime? Bear in mind the colossal forces, power, money and millions of skilled personnel of the military-industrial-congressional-media complex. Most are dedicated servants of the Bush neocon regime. Opposing that are some dedicated US citizens. But is there enough to make a dent in the plans, plots and covert deceptions of the trillion dollar Bush regime?

March 6, 2007

Professor Griffin's paper on "Neocon Imperialism, 9/11 and the Attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq " is the most comprehensive, informative, and scholarly essay I have seen on this subject. ...
Bush and the hand-picked collection of neo-conservatives in his administration control the most powerful forces in human history - enough to kill the world's population many times over. Add to that the other 8 nuclear weapon states that might be triggered into action by Bush's pre-emptive wars as described in Griffin 's paper. The world and humanity face extreme threats from a criminal regime operating on lies, delusions and grandiose ambitions.

BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY - Classic and Timeless - New York Times
Book by Ron Kovic

"Ron Kovic's memoir is a classic of antiwar literature," Howard Zinn
This classic is updated with a new introduction by the author. Ron Kovic calls on this new generation to stop the U.S. war in Iraq, "...I have watched in horror the mirror image of another Vietnam unfolding. So many similarities, so many things said that remind me of that war thirty years ago that left me paralyzed for the rest of my life."
Ron Kovic served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War as a Marine Corps sergeant. He was paralyzed from the chest down in combat in Vietnam on January 20, 1968, and has been in a wheelchair ever since. He is an accomplished author and painter, and a tireless advocate for peace. Along with Oliver Stone, Kovic was co-screenwriter of the Academy Award-winning film Born on the Fourth of July (starring Tom Cruise as Ron Kovic), based on the book. Read this book, give this book to your friends, to youth being hounded and lied to by military recruiters. And make as a companion gift to this, "We Won't Go! A Guide to Resistance." There's no better gift for our youth, our loved ones, than the truth and a guide to resistance!

Francis Boyle, a law Professor at U of Illinois, is the legal architect of the The Biological Weapons Convention and the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989. He has written a vitally important book: Biowarfare and Terrorism by Francis A. Boyle, Clarity Press, Atlanta, Georgia, USAT It is available through: or for US$12.95. The biological weapons threat to humanity, is as great as the growing nuclear threat as Professor Boyles book shows. Here is a review of that book.

A criminal biological weapons programme that is a threat to the entire planet!
Review: 'Biowarfare and Terrorism' by Francis A Boyle
Before I even begin to review this 'weapon of critical information', I urge you not only to buy it but when you've finished reading it (it's real short, so it shouldn't overly tax our attention-deficit culture), post it to your MP, Congressman, Senator, the UN, your vicar/priest/imam/holy man/rabbi; give it to your neighbour, teacher, workmate, brother, sister, mum and dad. In short, shout it out from the rooftops; that the US government is an international criminal of staggering proportions and the entire Bush administration should be indicted as war criminals and every last one locked up and the key thrown away.

Unprecedented warnings from the scientific community indicate that the planet's ecosystems are stressed near the point of collapse; business as usual is no longer possible, and we have little time left to respond. Civilization is also approaching a nexus of social crises. All of these problems result from the nature of capitalism, and we cannot expect solutions from political leaders or corporations. Therefore, this author is soliciting advice from experts and from anyone who might have suggestions as to what measures can people of limited means undertake to ease their transition into a post-petroleum world.   Exclusive  Brethren
Comment by Larry Ross

November 26, 2006

You may remember ex-CIA agent Ralph McGeehee who toured NZ for us back in the 80's. He said, and books by ex-CIA people also confirm that, the CIA often uses right-wing religious groups like EBs as a cover to channel funds to groups in countries the CIA wants to influence. In NZ we do know the US wants to get rid of NZ N-Free legislation and get NZ back on track sending NZ troops to US wars and hosting their warships. So it makes sense to suspect that perhaps the CIA has a role in supplying money and direction to NZ EBs for this purpose.

He's best known, though, not for a gadget but for a metaphor: the idea that the earth might usefully be considered as a single organism (for which he used the name of the Greek earth goddess Gaia) struggling to keep itself stable.

Understanding the Death of U.S. Liberalism
Comment by Larry Ross
September 22, 2006

For a long time I've wondered why, in the home of freedom and democracy, there is not more outraged liberal reaction to the phoney and contrived "wars on terror".
After reading Tony Judt's article, I now understand. It will not be surprising if Bush succeeds in converting America into a fascist state in all but name. That is because there does not appear to be much intelligent opposition to Bushism. Tony mentions so many prominent liberals who have quickly converted to defending and justifying Bush war madness against the newly coined but non-existent 'Islamo-fascism'.

Bush's Useful Idiots

Tony Judt on the Strange Death of Liberal America

Why have American liberals acquiesced in President Bush's catastrophic foreign policy? Why have they so little to say about Iraq, about Lebanon, or about reports of a planned attack on Iran? Why has the administration's sustained attack on civil liberties and international law aroused so little opposition or anger from those who used to care most about these things? Why, in short, has the liberal intelligentsia of the United States in recent years kept its head safely below the parapet?

"War Made Easy:How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us To Death" is the title of a new book that shows how the 4th Estate has evolved to become the major propagandist propelling Americans to war. The details of Bush's many lies are thoroughly dissected. For information, go to:
The following article by the author is a small taste.

Miller, The Fourth Estate And The Warfare State
by Norman Solomon
October 17, 2005

Norman Solomon is the author of the new book War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death. More than any other New York Times reporter, Judith Miller took the lead with stories claiming that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
Now, a few years later, she's facing heightened scrutiny in the aftermath of a pair of articles that appeared in the Times on Sunday—a lengthy investigative piece about Miller plus her first-person account of how she got entangled in the case of the Bush administration's "outing' of Valerie Plame as a CIA agent.

  CIA Falsification of Intelligence
Comment by Larry Ross
January 04, 2006

James Risen's book shows that In 2002 the CIA had testimony from many Iraq sources that Iraq's WMD or nuclear programme had been dead for 10 years.
Nevertheless the CIA gave the Bush Administration what it wanted - an "intelligence estimate that Iraq was reconstituting its nuclear program." The Bush Administration planned a war with Iraq and had the CIA provide what they called "intelligence" to provide material they could use as justification.
This case illustrates that the CIA is also a propaganda agency and much of its material is produced to suit the political objectives of the Administration. It is yet another expensive tool of the state used to fool the American people.

The most recent among many testing glitches of the Bush administration missile defense program should remind us that this exorbitant and heavily politicized effort should be scrapped. Until September 11, in the eyes of conservatives, the litmus test for patriotism was support for missile defense. Now they have moved on to view backing for the troubled Iraq War as the badge of armchair courage. Yet the 9/11 attacks demonstrated that the missile defense program did not address the most severe threats facing the United States.
The most serious threats to the U.S. homeland won’t arrive by missile. They’ll likely be attacks using either conventional means—as on 9/11—or nuclear, biological or chemical weapons smuggled into the country by ship or delivered by small aircraft. Terrorists are unlikely to have the technology to develop the long-range missiles that a missile defense system is designed to intercept using other missiles or lasers.

Most Americans don’t think of their government as an empire, but in fact the United States has been steadily expanding its control of overseas territories since the turn of the twentieth century. Now, through political intimidation and over 700 military bases worldwide, the U.S. holds sway over an area that dwarfs the great empires of world history.
In The Empire Has No Clothes, Ivan Eland, a leading expert on U.S. defense policy and national security, examines American military interventions around the world from the Spanish-American War to the invasion of Iraq.

...In his 1974 book, "The Permanent War Economy," he composed a long list of military trade-offs. The money spent on one Huey helicopter, he said, could buy 66 low-priced homes, while a recent $69 million reduction in child-nutrition programs represented the cost of two DE-1052 destroyer escorts. He added, "To eliminate hunger in America = $4-5 billion = C-5A aircraft program."
Ralph Nader on Seymour Melman:-
Before he passed away this month, Seymour Melman had completed a concise book manuscript titled, "Wars, Ltd.: The Rise and Fall of America's Permanent War Economy". He was having trouble finding a good publisher, when I spoke with him earlier this summer.
But he will leave a legacy of wisdom, insight, humanity, consistency, and diligence. In a society whose rulers and corporatists seal the people off from such magnificent minds and inundate them with trivia, distraction and the hot air artists daily bellowing their lucrative ignorance, sagacious Americans like Seymour Melman will not receive the attention the citizenry deserves unless we the people, who own the public airwaves, begin to control and use our own media rights

Why are the thousands of disgruntled GIs, their families and Veterans who question Bush's wisdom and veracity in e-mails and letters sent to Michael Moore rarely, if at all, represented in the mainstream media?
That is because the White House pretty much controls what comes through the mainstream media pipeline, particularly on television. Television news portrays the Karl Rove image of Bush surrounded by adoring, supportive troops in carefully choreographed photo-ops. The most notorious of these was the presidential crotch-stuffing appearance of Bush during his "Mission Accomplished" aircraft carrier stunt.       Buzzflash

  The Truth About 9/11
by Larry Ross
October 26, 2004

Mike Ruppert, is the author of this article which was delivered to San francisco's prestigious Commonwealth Club on August 31, 2004. He has just published a book "Crossing The Rubicon" in which he presents more details of his 9/11 charges and also on the world's 'Peak Oil' consumption.
Ruppert convincingly establishes that the Bush Administration planned and authorised the 9/11 attacks.

Address to For the Commonwealth Club - San Francisco
by Michael C. Ruppert
August 31, 2004

"The 9/11 attacks were the result of deliberate planning and orchestrated efforts by identifiable leaders within the U.S. Government, and the energy and financial sectors, to see a Pearl Harbor-like attack which would provide the American Empire with a pretext for war, invasion and the sequential confiscation of oil and natural gas reserves, or the key transportation routes through which they pass. 9-11 was a premeditated murder and in my book, and here tonight, I will name some of the suspects who committed the crime. In my book I will show you overwhelming evidence of their guilt, which I would be proud and confident to place either before a district attorney or a jury."

The End of Saddam Hussein: History Through the Eyes of the Victims.
Like the maniacal media baron of James Bond fame who aims to dominate the world though his newspaper, Jha argues that the media of today have had a sinister hand in the mutilation of Iraq - where "the truth was buried from the very beginning in layer upon layer of 'spin'," and justice and fairness became victims of a media jamboree. - Review by Chanakya Sen

DUDE, WHERE'S MY COUNTRY: Comment by Larry Ross, 6 October, 2003
I have written a new book, and this Tuesday it's being released. It's called, "DUDE, WHERE'S MY COUNTRY?" Because its content is likely to upset more than a few people, the publisher has "embargoed" the book until midnight Monday (which means no store or media outlet or anyone has access to a copy of the book until then).
